This page is going to provide you with brief chronological history of events, leading up to the formation of the curent line up in FULL EFFECT.
Full Effect has been around for many, many years beyond it's current state. Rich and some other local musicians in Gouverneur had the idea to put together a small, bare bones band-imagine that!!! They had three goals in mind: minimal gear, make some money and have some fun. The original band transformed over these early years and eventually ended up with Rich(guitars/vocals), Fred(guitars/vocals), Ryan(drums), Timmy (bass), and Bob (Lights). When Ryan left the band for college, C.J.took over as the drummer. He had known the guys for a long time and had played with many of them over the years in different bands.

Full Effect continued to play local clubs, with the above members, until New Years Eve of 1993. Following that gig, Fred had had enough of the live playing scene, and decided to call it quits. In February of 1994, Tim's wife ran into C.J. They talked for awhile and in the midst of the conversation, C.J. told her that Full Effect had broken up and were looking for a guitar player. C.J. gave Robin a phone number. Tim called , and arranged for a jam. Following the "audition" Tim was hired. Now the line up was: Rich (guitar/vocals), Tim (guitar), Timmy (bass), C.J.(drums), and Bob (lights). A song list was developed and practice began.
In Late March of 1994, C.J. was hired to work a job in Colorado, and had to leave the band. Timmy also decided to call it quits. This left Tim, Rich, and Bob. Tim and Rich continued to get together to jam. At that time Tim shared and apartment building with Kevin, who was a drummer. Kevin had been a fan of the original Full Effect. Tim talked to Kevin and arranged for a jam. At the same time Rich called up Drew, who played bass. Rich had played in several bands with Drew over the years. Rich was not sure if Drew would be into playing again. Drew had played for several years in a semi-professional band "Asylum", who toured up and down the east coast. This experience left him a little "gun shy" about playing live. Lucky for the band, Drew decided to give it a try. In early April of 1994, we all got together and jammed. Bass amps flying down the snowmobile ramp and all. Everything seemed to click, and we decided to give it a try. The line up now included: Rich(guitars/vocals), Tim(guitar), Kevin(drums/backing vocals), Drew (bass/backing vocals), and Bob (lights). We practiced dilligently and made our debut appearance June of 1994 at Nightlights in Canton with just enough songs to get through the night.( Many extended, improvised solos in those early days!!!!)
Full Effect began to grow and develop a following. We started buying gear and were playing very consistently. It was during this time that we decided it was time to hand the sound man duties over to Bob and let him run sound from out in front of the stage. Bob was no stranger to this job, so it was a simple transition. By the end of 1997, we were playing 2-3 times a week, 52 weeks a year.
In early Summer of 1997, Kevin got a job in Adams, NY and had to move. His schedule did permit him to play anymore, so he had to call it quits.
We began to brainstorm for another drummer. Randy's name was suggested. We did not know him but had met him a few times out in the clubs. Randy was called several times without avail.(We learned later that he was in Florida on a two week vacation). With the Summer upon us we wanted to get back out to the clubs ASAP. By this time, we heard that C.J. had returned from Colorado. We knew he could learn the material quickly. We contacted him, offered him the job and he accepted the offer.

After about 4 practices with C.J. we hit the club scene again. We continued to maintain our rigorous schedule, playing classic rock songs with a few 80's metal songs thrown in. It was during this time that we started leaning more towards technically challenging songs. As a result, we started to evolve into a listening/watching band as opposed to a strict dance band.
In the Early Fall of 1999, C.J. was hired to work in Buffalo. He tried to work all week, and return from Buffalo on weekends to play. Eventually this schedule got the best of him so he had to call it quits.

Again the brainstorming began. We decided to give Randy a call again. We were successful in contacting him this time and we arranged for a jam/meeting. We jammed for a bit, and sat down to discuss things. We all collectively decided that the band was a hobby and that we would take on a less frequent playing schedule. Randy committed to the job, we practiced, and hit the club scene. This most recent formation of the band has promoted a very enjoyable, relaxed ,atmosphere. We have incorporated several different styles of music into our repetoire and have been recording our own material. We have tried to become a "minimalist" operation. We have completely updated our P.A. system to be much more compact and efficient(However, it is far from minimal), and we only bring 30 guitars to the gigs.
